The GREEN-AgriChains project was coordinated by the Laboratory of Quantitative Analysis, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.Th.), which has extensive experience in the coordination of European research projects. In contrast to research projects, the role of the coordinator is primarily to moderate the process, organize seminars, meetings and conference, synthesize module results and undertake reporting and dissemination.

Professor Eleftherios Iakovou was the Project Coordinator until August 2015 and Associate Prof. Vlachos is the Project Coordinator from September 2015. The Project Coordinator is responsible for day-to-day management and co-ordination issues, acting as interface between the project management team and WP and task leaders. The Project Coordinator was supported by the Project Manager (Associate Prof. Vlachos) who assisted the coordinator and the PMC in the tasks and to manage the project. He was also be supported by A.U.Th.’s Research Committee which has extensive experience in the management of research programmes.

As the coordinator of the project, A.U.Th. fulfills the responsibilities defined in the contract with the European Commission. It acts as the focus point of contact for interaction between the third parties and the project, including the submission of deliverables to the European Commission. The coordinator receive, compile and distribute to the partners and other relevant recipients, documents, reports, statements of expenditure, minutes of meetings of the PMC, SAB and QAC and any other information relating to the project.

Final Dissemination Event

At September 18th, 2015 will take place the Final Dissemination Event of GREEN-Agrichains Project in the Marivaux Hotel, Brussels, Belgium.

Critical results of interest were presented in the context of the 14th Pellets Industry Forum that was co-organized by Solar Promotion GmbH, the European Pellet Council, and the European Biomass Association (AEVIOM) in Munich, June 11-12, 2015.

One of the senior post-doctoral researchers of the GREEN-Agrichains project, Dr. Agorasti-Eri Toka, was awarded as the Best Young Researcher on Biomass at World Sustainable Energy Days 2015 (24-26 February, Wels/Austria) by Mr. Rudi Anschober, Regional Minister for Energy, Upper Austria and Mr. Gerhard Dell, Director of OÖ Energiesparverband, Austria.
