Description

The GREEN-AgriChains project aims at tackling all aspects of Green Supply Chain Management (SCM) and Logistics, focused on the Agrifood sector. In this framework, it will deal with sustainable farming, reverse logistics, green procurement and sourcing, waste management and packaging reuse, transportation, energy consumption efficiency, green marketing, green accounting, and corporate social responsibility.

Coordination

The GREEN-AgriChains project will be coordinated by the Laboratory of Quantitative Analysis, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.Th.).

Extensive research on the Greek Pellet Market was conducted in the context of the GREEN-Agrichains Project. Critical results of interest were presented in the context of the 14th Pellets Industry Forum that was co-organized by Solar Promotion GmbH, the European Pellet Council, and the European Biomass Association (AEVIOM) in Munich, June 11-12, 2015.

One of the senior post-doctoral researchers of the GREEN-Agrichains project, Dr. Agorasti-Eri Toka, was awarded as the Best Young Researcher on Biomass at World Sustainable Energy Days 2015 (24-26 February, Wels/Austria) by Mr. Rudi Anschober, Regional Minister for Energy, Upper Austria and Mr. Gerhard Dell, Director of OÖ Energiesparverband, Austria.
