The information / dissemination event titled "An E.U. Initiative for the Development of Green Supply Chains for the Agriculture Sector" was organized by the International Hellenic University and the GREEN-AgriChains project Coordinating Laboratories of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. The event took place on the 22nd of November 2012 in the International Hellenic University Auditorium (14th km Thessaloniki - Moudania, Thermi, Greece) at 18:00.

InvitationIn the event, the GREEN-AgriChains project was presented, while representatives of the project's consosrtium, among which Professor Nicolas Moussiopoulos (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Department of Mechanical Engineering), Professor Gerassimos Martzopoulos (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Faculty of Agriculture), Professor Michael Bourlakis (Brunel University, U.K.), Associate Professor Dionysis Bochtis (Aarhus University, Denmark) and CEO Thorsten Hülsmann (EffizienzCluster, Germany) participated. Specifically, after the presentation of the project, Professor Eleftherios Iakovou, as the Project's Coordinator, led a round table discussion on sustainable supply chain management in the agrifood sector, giving the opportunity for an in depth exchange of information.

One of the senior post-doctoral researchers of the GREEN-Agrichains project, Dr. Agorasti-Eri Toka, was awarded as the Best Young Researcher on Biomass at World Sustainable Energy Days 2015 (24-26 February, Wels/Austria) by Mr. Rudi Anschober, Regional Minister for Energy, Upper Austria and Mr. Gerhard Dell, Director of OÖ Energiesparverband, Austria.
