The GREEN-Agrichains project was officially presented to governement executives, members of business associations that deal with agriculture, media and public in the Conference under the Greek-German Assembly in the town of Lagadas (Greece) on the 3rd of October, 2012.

This Conference was organized by the Regional Association of Municipalities of Central Macedonia (Greece), the Municipality of Lagadas (Greece), the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Thessaloniki (Greece), the delegation of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in Athens (Greece) and the Office of the Greek-German Assembly (Deutsch-Griechischen Versammlung) in Thessaloniki (Greece). The topics covered in this Conference included aspects of knowledge regarding (i) the requirements of the European and German markets (quality criteria), (ii) the branding, marketing, and the globalization of markets, (iii) the promotion of agricultural products within the community / region, and (iv) the use of Municipal land for agriculture - German experiences (Berlin).

Critical results of interest were presented in the context of the 14th Pellets Industry Forum that was co-organized by Solar Promotion GmbH, the European Pellet Council, and the European Biomass Association (AEVIOM) in Munich, June 11-12, 2015.

Best Young Researcher Award (Biomass)

One of the senior post-doctoral researchers of the GREEN-Agrichains project, Dr. Agorasti-Eri Toka, was awarded as the Best Young Researcher on Biomass at World Sustainable Energy Days 2015 (24-26 February, Wels/Austria) by Mr. Rudi Anschober, Regional Minister for Energy, Upper Austria and Mr. Gerhard Dell, Director of OÖ Energiesparverband, Austria.
